Something for everyone! That's sort of how I think of Royal Caribbean. The cruise line caters to multi-generational cruise enthusiasts of all ages. The huge fleet offers the ability to find something anyone in your family could want to do. If you like to have a traditional cruise experience and get dressed up for dinner, you can do that. If you want to be active from dawn to dusk, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. If you are organizing a generational get together for your family, you’ll find Royal can make even the pickiest of your relatives happy. If you’re a solo traveler the larger ships even have solo cabin opportunities and all ships have a variety of singles events all day long. If you want to ride amusement park style rides they’ve got you covered. And of course, if all you really want to do is sip a margarita by the pool, then pull up a chair and someone will bring that right over. Among all the cruise lines their loyalists tend to be the most active and engaged. They are truly “loyal to Royal”.

The other thing that really makes Royal Caribbean worth considering for your cruise vacation is the size of their fleet. They have the largest fleet on the ocean with 25 ships (one more than Carnival right now) and their ships tend to be larger as well so they sail more passengers than any other line. That gives you a lot of choices on itineraries and types of ship. Some cruisers find they enjoy a smaller ship because you can get to know the cruise staff and fellow passengers on a more personal level than if you sail a huge ship. However, others like the excitement of exploring a floating resort even though the staff may not recognize and greet you by name.

About the cruiseline

As of 5/2021 RCCL has a fleet of 24 ships sailing around the world. Their ships are designed in 6 distinct ``classes`` that range from the smaller and older Vision class ships to the huge Oasis class ships that are close to 3x as large. The range in sizes allows RCCL to cruise to almost any port of call and allows you to choose whether you want a more intimate small ship vibe or the excitement of a floating city.

Royal Entertainment

A Cruise Director leads the cavalcade of entertainment on a RCCL cruise that includes traditional fare like trivia and sing-alongs as well as ground breaking Broadway shows, original stage productions, acrobatic/aquatic shows, and even ice skating extravaganzas.

Royal Dining

From the buffet style Windjammer any time to the traditional Main Dining Room for dinner if you go hungry on RCCL it's by choice. Besides those main eateries there are a variety of casual dining spots with things like pizza, hamburgers, tacos and light sandwiches/salads (depending on the ship) scattered around the ship. Then there are the specialty dining options ranging from a great steakhouse (on all ships) to sushi (on some ships). Be sure to plan to treat yourself to at least one specialty meal during your cruise vacation!
